They were made in the image of man,
but They were never meant to replace our human race. They were made to out last man so what goes through Their minds in the vastness of space? a mate of mine, ~Zhimber wanted a new image for his wall at home based on my cyborg style. I came up with this self endulging piece, which at 1:1 scale, it's pretty detailed. the work started about a month ago, at the start of August, and has been tended to between the hours of sleep and and daily life. The intention is to exercise drawing the human form while being able to endulge in the details that cybernetics display. The forms are primarily male due to my fascination with them. Each [Cy]Borg has a backstory as to why they have ended up in this Recycling Depot (links below). original WIP (Work In Progress) link here [link] Influences :: i,Robot : Space Odessey 2000 : Terminator : [Ani]Matrix - Renaissance Pt2 : An Ode To :: Daniel Conway's - [ * arcipello ] work [Forget Me Not] [link] Tools :: PS + Tablet Size :: Original 3600 x 5400 (print comming soon) Daily DeviationGiven 2004-11-17Be sure to read the backstory of each piece in this. thanks, the AniMatrix did influence me a fair bit.
it's such a real possibility in terms of the way society is heading with computers and electronic items. as soon as something hits the shelf these days, it's already old and depreciating rapidly to obsoletion. i did want to convey that the Depot is actually a large floating magnetic sphere emitting an EMP field which keeps all the floating bits stuck on each other, but that was going to make the image far too huge, with too many elements. i need time to live as well. -- :: [ GALLERY ] :: [ PHOTOGRAPHY ] :: [ STOCK ] :: funny, i thought the WIP stages were pretty clear ... oh well, i guess nothing translates well over this medium.
thanks for the compliment, but as always i push for more critical comments for improvement. -- :: [ GALLERY ] :: [ PHOTOGRAPHY ] :: [ STOCK ] :: This is unbelievably cool. Things like this make me glad I get to do print approval. The level of detail is astounding as is the use of color to create a somber tone. It really gives the feeling of being tossed on the scrapheap. And the rhythm of the piece is brilliant as well. It just flows together. Very good work.
-- thanks for the compliment Lolly
you should have enjoyed looking thru the 13.7 MB file I uploaded then (if you read the backstories [other associated devs] of each of the Borgs, it adds to the image) -- :: [ GALLERY ] :: [ PHOTOGRAPHY ] :: [ STOCK ] :: *Squints at piece in full-view*... Uh... must.. find... problems... but... CAN'T!! Aaaaaaah!!
Amazing work yet again. -- FAIL WHALE. |
