Birthday Wish

Tue Jul 5, 2005, 5:39 AM

Help me wish upon a star ...

My birthday is on the 29th of July (for the uninitiated), and this year, much like every other year, I will not be holding a party (mind you, I'm turning 28, when i turn 30, I'm holding an Irish Wake). However, I will be cashing in on my birthday wish! So I ask you, my wellwishers, stalkers and minions, to seek out the man of my dreams.

He shall have the following characteristics:
:bulletblue: With Eyes of Sapphire Blue
:bulletblue: A Heart where my Love will Renew

:bulletblue: Hair of Raven Wing Black
:bulletblue: Muscled with a very Toned Back

:bulletblue: Skin as Pale the Moon
:bulletblue: Voice so Deep when he Swoons

:bulletblue: Jaw that is Square and quite Strong
:bulletblue: Endurance to Dance all night long

:bulletblue: Height of around 6 foot 1
:bulletblue: Security of a Well Established Sum

:bulletblue: Body from Slim to Medium build
:bulletblue: Intelligence and Wit to the brim filled

:bulletblue: Younger or Older by 4 years grace
:bulletblue: A Tertiary background he must have had face

:bulletblue: A Smoker he can Never be
:bulletblue: A Lover of every Flaw of me

Milestone

Tue Jul 5, 2005, 5:38 AM

Pinch and a Punch for the start of the Month.

It's been a while for those of you remember me. Ever since December 04, I've placed my life on hold and endulged in an online game called World Of Warcraft. It's kept me company and somewhat sane in my terribly uneventful life.

I would like to make a journal entry to de-mark this somewhat important day of my so-called-life - my tarot cards have officially been released!

Revelations Tarot is now available at my publisher Llewellyn (and at selected online bookstores).

I'm both excited and terrified at the same time of being so exposed. I'm sure my ego will kick in and I'll be fine, but until then, I'll be here under my rock of modesty.

Feel free to feed my side-income :D and purchase an affordably priced deck. It also comes with a 216 page book which describes in detail the meaning and symbolism of each card. (The scary bit about creating the deck was that I also became a published author, by default.)

A submission for a Portrait Comp @ I-- on my Photography account - scintillate

Having a bit of a creative block for the past week. I've burnt myself out again.

Looking forward to my 3 Weeks holidays for X-Mas.
Currently have a new addiction to Worlds of Warcraft and that's keeping me sane.

Driven Inwards

Sat Nov 13, 2004, 1:42 AM

I am deaf even though I can hear,
I am blind for I cannot see what's near,
I am dumb, silenced by fear,
and I am stupid for my mind's not clear.

I am blessed with a heart which is weak,
My struggle against the odds keeps it meek,
A shoulder, a wall, some support, I seek,
To fight against the voice that labels me a freak.

For sight and sound, my senses play,
Visions and vibrations, guide me through my day,
My emotions speak volumes, can you hear them say?
Fear not the darkness, live for the day.

Defective Pixels In My Eye

Fri Nov 5, 2004, 10:04 PM

2.5 days left till the end of my "Holidays". Then I'll back at work, wondering why I didn't spend more time in front of my puter, producing more artwork.

Thanks for the positive response from my most recent entry for the Inspirations Contest. Common courtesy cause me to reply and thank the 60+ new watchers (why weren't you watching me before hand?!?!?!?!) and the 200+ fav's. Sufice to say, I'm in no hurry to be popular.

For those of you who haven't seen the movie Hero, please do (Trailer Here - www.miramax.com/hero/ ). The cinematography is brilliant and HAS to be watched at least twice, as you'll get a sensory overload the first time just on the details.

And to end on my usual melancholic tone, I'm experiencing a bit of an downer at the moment - which is affecting my art again.

Big Enough Umbrella ...

Tue Nov 2, 2004, 3:38 AM
... but it's always me that ends up getting wet

Well I'm back from Adelaide. Suffice to say, unless you don't have any family there, or an old life to dig up from 6 feet under, it's a nice place ... to drive through. I cut my trip short because I was bored of waiting around for my friends to be available to catch up with.

To add insult to injury, I went back for a wedding - which is all well and good, unless you're terribly single, like myself.

I have approximately 6 more days of leave from work, which I'm planning to endulge myself back into my art and shut the beautiful world out.

Road Trip to the Past

Mon Oct 25, 2004, 8:16 AM

I'm going back to Adelaide for a couple of weeks. I doubt I'd be producing any digital art while I'm away, but I do plan to take soem pictures and submit them (when I get back) to my photography account scintillate

I'm not (as always) looking forward to the trip, only because each time I go back, I feel like I'm regressing to where I have run away from (so we all have issues, blah).

As my parting shot, I've uploaded my little piece for Halloween - www.deviantart.com/deviation/1… . It's not your traditional pumpkin and macarbe business, but more a reflection upon the aspect of masks and costumes associated with the season.

And if my path ends in the next few weeks, it's been nice knowing the lot of you; otherwise I'll "see" you when I get back.

Fate, Destiny + Effort

Sat Sep 11, 2004, 10:50 AM
(For those who read the previous journal ...)
I approached the Rice Queen this time - while he has suffering the after effects of alcohol and was quite surprised. He seems like a terribly nice guy, and I walked him home and gave him a hug and exchanged numbers. If things go well, I wonder if my artistic style will change to match my mood. Time will tell.

As fate would have it, we both come from the same home town (can you hear the bells ringing?).

:bulletblue:

My art work seems to be getting a bit more involved and detailed. I'm afraid of suffering from the cliche of not seeing the forest from the trees. I'm plan to remedy that by do a few timed-limited (speed painting) pieces in the next round to loosen up the muscles and juices.

Any suggestions as to what I can produce? (I'm aiming to make wallpaper proportioned landscape pieces)

Rice Queens + Prints

Sat Sep 4, 2004, 11:02 AM
A Rice Queen who has been stalking me at the clubs has finally stopped exchanging smiles with me and decided to slide up to me ont he dance floor and crack an opening line. For the uninitiated, the term of Rice Queen is generally given to a white boy who has a preference for asian boys. I usually use it as a term of endearment, but there's a general stigmatism associated with it.

"I've seen you at The Star (Hotel)" he says with a knowing smile across his face. (The Star Hotel is a bar where most Rice Queens and Asian Boys go to pick up and socialize)
"Sorry, I've never been there before" I yelled back over Kylie (Minogue) blaring over the dance floor.

The looks of shock and slight dissapointment on his face was priceless. I spent the rest of the  next three songs dancing with my back towards him, seeing if he'd try and redeem himself with another line. Suffice to say, I left the club partly dissapointed, but more sure of myself.

I don't think I'm ready for anyone in my life - as much as I have been telling myself for years. With that firmly writen on electronic text, I shall move on with another part of my life.

:bulletgreen:

I've decided to put my Prints back up for sale. I'm also gonna Up the prices and maybe re-submit the files at a higher resolution/compression as justification.

For those of you +watching my Gallery, sorry in advannce for the re-appearances in your dev-watch. I know it pisses ME off when I see dev's which I have already cleared.

Cheers!

Blocked Nose and Other Niceties

Tue Aug 31, 2004, 12:47 AM

I've decided to stop the Avanza - only because it's (side) affecting my daily life. I was terribly drowsy at work yesterday that I wrote myself off after 3 hours and went home to sleep. The medication also has increased my appetite, which is always good, but I think the cravings for KFC has to stop.

I shall see my doc for an alternative tomorrow. I hear there's one that obliterates your sex drive - something I could do with at this stage of my life.

On the upside, I have been focusing on my most recent WIP, that-cyborg-andriod-scrapyard-thing. the detailing has kept my arm in check and casted my social life aside. In fact i think i'm over endulging in the curcuitry detail - which will probably be lost in the scaled down version.

Apart from that, chin up peeps.

You've lost that lovin' feeling ...

Fri Aug 27, 2004, 9:27 PM

Winter Foil by scintillate

Well it's finally happened, I've caught the Cold which has been flaoting around my social circles and workplace. Considering how long it's been around, I'm doing pretty well (in terms of immune system). I've been somewhat trapped at home, working on Recycle, eating chicken soup and trying to give my body some rest.

On top of that I've started a three week trial for Avanza. Hopefully, it'll help me with life in general as I've lost all interest in living for the past few months (and intermittenly throughout the past 4-5 years). So far I'm only feeling sluggish, which is quite relaxing.

Cheers for reading.
